    Description

    Welcome!
    WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT:
Vera Luna was one of the all time great Zuni artists, whose work resides in numerous museums and galleries and she is mentioned in most of the books about Zuni jewelry. I've owned many of her pieces, signed and unsigned and always love her work. This is a signed piece, of size, too, which is beautiful and charming. It is her prototypical form of the Apache Gahn Dancer, or Mountain Spirit Dancer. It is a lovely form with wonderful stone, shells, and color. There is natural coral, turquoise, jet, clam shell, mother of pearl, brown shell and abalone shell -- all stones and shells are natural and very fine. There is mostly channel inlay and some mosaic inlay and dot inlay some raised inlay and contrasting, some flush inlay. The silver work is also very fine and the dancer carries the traditional wands and plants for the ceremonial dance. The piece is properly signed by her and is a great collector piece. There's a smaller matching pin my store which would be great to wear with it and I have some of her smaller bolos, too. The colors and simplicity of the design are striking. The crown on the dancer alone, is just fabulous.
    CONDITION:
The condition is excellent vintage, wearable and collectible. There is a small defect or two in the stones, nothing  endangering the safety of the piece. One tip has some crimps in it.

    • Tips are 2-1/4" high
    • Length of tie with tips end to end c. 38"

    SUMMARY:
This is a stunning authentic, signed piece by one of the all-time great Zuni silversmiths. It is made of top notch stones and the work is excellent. It's also large and there's a matching pin available in my store which would be great to wear with it on a belt or bag or on the pocket, or by a partner and smaller bolos, too. This is a special bolo and extraordinarily reasonably priced for her work. It is exquisite!
