Vintage Native American Coin Sterling Silver Modernist Wing Head Dress Brooch

This large & lovely brooch came to me with a group of other Native American jewelry.  The lady told me she bought it in the Southwest in the 80s at a trading post & that it's sterling, although unmarked.  I have no reason to doubt her, as the theme & construction seem proper for the time period.  I would guess it to be a Navajo piece.
There are no hallmarks or metal content marks that I can see, but I will guarantee it to be at least 800 coin Silver.  The band that sits atop the wing on one side is brass.
It's about 3 -7/16" at longert, feather end to end.  At widest it's 1 -3/8".
The back pin is a little bent, but other than that it's in good vintage condition, just in need of a proper polishing to catch the light.
