TECUMSEH’S YOUNG BRAVES
,
one of the titles in
The Every Boy’s Library
sponsored by the
Boy Scouts of America

A few years after the
Boy Scouts of America
was formed, the Scout National Council recognized that, to effectively carry out the organization’s goals, it should make an effort to have a positive influence its Boy Scouts’ “diversions and other leisure moments.”
This included selecting suitable books for scouts to read.
Accordingly, an
Every Boy’s Library
was organized containing books written by the likes of Jack London, Robert Lewis Stevenson, Zane Grey and Jules Verne.
These books were issued at a lower cost so that all boys could afford to read and own them.
To set them apart for their original editions, these books were published in a uniform binding which featured the Boy Scout emblem on their covers.
One of the titles in this library was
TECUMSEH’S YOUNG BRAVES
, a story set during the Creek war of 1812 and originally published in 1896.
In the book’s
Preface
, the author mentions that the story incorporates many daring deeds and historical events that had actually taken place.
356 pages, illustrated by A. Burnham Shute.
This copy comes from a non-smoking household.
The binding is good, and the pages are clean and unmarked. All in all, this copy is in very good condition for a book that was probably published around World War I.
This copy is being sold “as is” and has been priced to sell with a low opening bid.
It will be shipped via USPS Media Mail with tracking.
