    Description

    Welcome.
WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT: Bobby Lujan, was one of the great Taos silversmiths, and worked in some varied styles, during his lifetime of 1922-2012. This bracelet is a gorgeous example of one of his traditional styles. There are five gorgeous natural rich turquoise stones with a deep brown matrix with hand made beautiful scalloped bezels, each stone separated by thick applied raised wires, with two such wires at the ends of each of the final set stones on each side. The piece is entirely hand constructed and it's beautiful. The stones are set in an inset fashion and framed with carinated wires that work beautifully with the raised, shaped, thick wires used to separate the stones. The silver is top grade, soft as high grade silver is, so the gap can be gently adjusted, by an expert, quite easily. Everything is beautifully done. It's stunning.
CONDITION: excellent vintage, wearable, collectible. There is some matrix loss in one stone, with some surface hairlines, not noticeable to my eye, except in magnification.
    MEASUREMENTS:
    • internal length 5-1/2" silver alone, gap 2", total 7.5". Because the silver is soft, the gap can be easily gently adjusted by any expert, who knows to be careful neither to crimp the silver, nor loosen the stones
    • width 1-1/4" tapering to 11/16" at the terminals
    • weight 69.9grams
    • signed by Bobby Lujan of Taos Pueblo
    • unmarked for metal content which is usual for those times but guaranteed to be sterling silver .925
SUMMARY: this is an especially lovely bracelet by the great Taos artist, Bobby Lujan. It contains five gorgeous turquoise stones of deep rich coloration with dark chocolate matrix which are bezel set in beautiful hand made scalloped bezels. Each stone is separated by an elevated curved thick silver wire with two such wires positioned after the last stone on each side. The foundation consists of two carinated wires at the outer frame, meeting at the squared terminals, and the entire design for the stones is inset, in a shadowboxed fashion. The rich coloration of the stones contrasts beautifully with the well patinated silver. It's an exquisite and highly collectible bracelet.

I request payment by PayPal in two days, but planned in advance of purchase, alternate payment methods and time payments can generally be arranged.
I generally ship same day. Domestic: FREE expedited US shipping. I’m including insurance on all my shipments till the PO resumes full functionality.
International buyers pay actual shipping cost if I’m shipping myself rather than using eBay’s Global Shipping service, and International buyers are responsible for any customs fees their own countries may apply. Please discuss changing shipping method prior to purchase. My shipping defaults to Express International, which is tracked and insured, but I can use Priority Mail International. It's less expensive and is also tracked. First Class International is no longer offered by the US Postal Service. I charge the actual shipping cost and since shipping to each country costs a different amount, I will charge a little extra and refund the exact difference once I can put your address in and print a shipping label. I am no longer shipping to Italy and China, but can make exceptions if you speak with me about it, especially if you are a prior customer.

When I include pages from published books in my listings it is in accordance with Fair Use Law, which permits the use of source material for discussion, reference, education and criticism.
Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.
