Description
Welcome!WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT: a unique and exceptionally gorgeous entirely hand constructed bracelet based on a foundation of five sturdy carinated wires nicely finished at the terminals, on which are mounted 18 large Fox nuggets, each set in a hand made scalloped bezel and adorned with hand made and applied
raindrops
separating them. The base is darkened and appears recessed and the raindrops are more shiney, all contrasting with the most amazingly gorgeous natural turquoise stones from the Fox mine, the colors of which follow you through sleep. It's a dreamy bracelet, a bracelet of the dream time. The artist was the excellent Sam Lovato, who lived in Kewa (Santo Domingo) Pueblo, from 1935 to 1999. It doesn't even matter what else he did because this is enough. It's a masterpiece and the beauty is infinite.
CONDITION: Excellent vintage, wearable, collectible. To my eye it looks brand new, as if never worn. But it's being worn now!
MEASUREMENTS:
• width 3-1/8"! at center, tapering to 3/4" at the terminals
• internal length 5-1/2" silver alone, gap of 1", total 6-1/2"
• unmarked for metal content which is usual, but it is tested sterling silver .925
• signed by the Kewa artist, Sam Lovato, with his hallmark
• weight 152.49grams! very significant
• 18 large natural Fox Mine nuggets each a different size, up to 3/4" x 1/2" or more
SUMMARY: This is one of the most fabulous bracelets I've owned from the Kewa Pueblo. It is something I would never part with if I didn't have to. I'm pricing it low compared to the value, which is three times my price, but I did pay well for it because it's wonderful, and I think no one could regret this purchase. It's a masterpiece, so balanced and comfortable to wear, despite being massive, and such a delight to see on your arm. All the silver work is perfection, I love
the beautiful bezels, honoring the beauty of the marvelously colored natural stones. What a treat! This piece would be special in the best of collections, and equally special as the first purchase by a discerning newcomer to this art. It is evergreen and will always be gorgeous.

International buyers pay actual shipping cost if I’m shipping myself rather than using eBay’s Global Shipping service, and International buyers are responsible for any customs fees their own countries may apply. Please discuss changing shipping method prior to purchase. My shipping defaults to Express International, which is tracked and insured, but I can use Priority Mail International. It's less expensive and is also tracked. First Class International is no longer offered by the US Postal Service. I charge the actual shipping cost and since shipping to each country costs a different amount, I will charge a little extra and refund the exact difference once I can put your address in and print a shipping label. I am no longer shipping to Italy and China, but can make exceptions if you speak with me about it, especially if you are a prior customer.
Returns will be accepted for 30 days after your receipt for any reason and without question. Please let me know if you would like to return something. Returns must be in the same condition they were shipped. If I make a significant mistake in a listing I'll always give you a full refund. The 20% restocking fee does not apply when the mistake is mine. I care that you're happy and about my accuracy, and will always stand behind my work. My attributions are guaranteed for my lifetime.
When I include pages from published books in my listings it is in accordance with Fair Use Law, which permits the use of source material for discussion, reference, education and criticism.
Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.
