Description
This ring features a Kachina dancer and 14K gold sun and was made by Greg Naseyoma, one of the masters of Hopi overlay style. The Kachina Dancer is an important part of Native American/Hopi culture, representing the "spirits of all things in the universe, of rocks, stars, animals, plants and ancestors who have lived good lives". The spirits are impersonated by the dancers during important Hopi ceremonies. This ring is approximately size 6 and weighs approximately 5.3 grams. It is approximately 7/8" x 1/2". We bought this ring new in 1996 for gallery inventory and it has never been worn.
Greg Naseyoma is an important Hopi silversmith whose work has become increasingly rare. He is recognized as one of the finest Hopi artists of our time.
