Schumann Bavaria Germany Arzberg Portrait Gypsy Lady Cabinet Plates w/ Gold Trim

LThis listing is for a set of two (2) identical Schumann Bavaria portrait cabinet plates from Arzberg, Germany, circa 1940’s. These hand-embellished pieces feature a portrait of a young gypsy woman with flowing auburn tresses and deep set brown at center set against a red background. The red fades to pink as it get closer to the centers. These stunning cabinet plates feature gilt around the wells and rims, while a floral pattern surrounds each image. These plates measure approximately 7-1/2” in diameter. They are marked on the underside in green “Bavaria Schumann,” which denotes production circa mid-1940’s. Very good, preowned condition with some losses/rubbing to the gilt (please see photos). No chips, cracks, or crazing were noted upon close inspection.
