    ANTIQUE CHEYENNE OR ARAPAHO DENTALIUM SHELL CHOKER WITH LARGE CENTRAL SHELL & BEADS -
    You are considering a beautiful choker necklace made of Dentalium shells, a larger central shell and colorful glass trade beads all on hand tanned leather cord. The antique piece has been attributed by a certified appraiser as being Cheyenne or Arapaho in origin. The stunning piece would traditionally be worn by a male member of the tribe. A few tiny glass beads were also attached on one of the leather dividers between the Dentalium shells. The overall length of the shell portion is 14 inches with addition leather ties which allow the wearer to be secured at the back of the neck. The result is a magnificent and beautiful Native American artifact. Good luck to my winner.
    Many of the artifacts I have posted on E-Bay were purchased around 40 - 45 years ago, but most are much older. The tarnish has never been touched, which gives you some indication of the age of this beautiful necklace. Elegantly, Masculine and Powerful is how I would describe this very old necklace.
