Old 30" Native American Navajo 5-Strand Blue-Green Turquoise Necklace ~90 Grams~

This auction is for a gorgeous vintage 5-strand handmade Native American Navajo blue-green turquoise necklace.  The old necklace has many beautiful small blue & green turquoise in many irregular shaped nuggets.  There are brown & white heishi shells in between the turquoise nuggets.  The necklace is a traditional squaw wrap design with braided back that slips over your head (there is no clasp).  The braided back on the necklace meaures about 3" long.  This necklace is loaded with wonderful turquoise nuggets!
The Navajo necklace is substantial weighing 90.4 grams and
measuring about 30" around. The turquoise nuggets are beautifully matched in size with blue, green & blue-green turquoise stones.  The colors in the necklace are quite beautiful.
This Navajo necklace was one of several Native American necklaces that I purchased in a Ralph Lauren boutique in Palo Alto, CA.  The boutique had
wonderful, old Native American art and jewelry collected all across the US by Ralph Lauren antique specialists.  I
bought the necklace some 28 ago as vintage and it remains in excellent vintage condition.  The necklace has a beautiful, warm patina.  I did not find any chipped or cracked turquose nuggets or heishi but there could be a few tiny chips since the necklace is vintage.  The squaw wrap seems strong and secure.

This vintage Navajo turquoise necklace is a great find for anyone who loves Native American jewelry.  The turquoise are well matched and very beautiful.  The weight is comfortable to wear but looks very substantial.  The necklace will bring years of pleasure to the new owner and become a family heirloom.
