Native American turquoise coral sterling silver Corn kachina dancer bolo tie, stamped STERLING, and signed BERT by the Navajo artist. This kachina appears to be either the Spotted Corn kachina or the Corn Maiden kachina, we weren't able to determine which one. This magnificent and exceptionally large piece showcases 6 natural, sky-blue, roughly polished turquoise nuggets on the headdress of the dancer, set in serrated bezels, wrapped in silver rope, and distributed in a semi-circle with a stone in the center. Another turquoise, set in a smooth bezel wrapped in silver rope, and 3 corals set in serrated bezels adorn the dancer's garment. Two bright turquoise snake-eyes give this kachina a set of blue eyes and a lively look. The intricate and three-dimensional silver work on the kachina is remarkable, superb craftsmanship by Bert. This piece weighs a total of 90.3 grams!! The slide is about 4 7/8" tall by 2 5/16" wide (at its widest point). The larger stones on the headdress are roughly the same size with a smaller one in the center, with the tallest one measuring 13/16" in height by 9/16" in width, and the others measuring approximately 9/16" in height by 5/8" in width, from bezel to bezel. These stones are uneven and have different thickness. The black leather cord is in fairly good shape, with an occasional light mark on the leather, but no worn spots or rips. The shiny tips were polished to a shine, as the dancer, and are in great condition; no dents. The tips have little loops for dangles, but they can be easily cut off, if not needed. The cord is approximately 44" long, including the 2 1/8" tips.
Note: Some of the stones have natural inclusions. All stones are safely secured in their bezels. No loose stones whatsoever.
Thank you for supporting authentic Native American art.
