    Description

Proudly presented today is this exquisite Hopi silver belt buckle, by the immensely talented Marvin Lomahaftewa. This controversial piece depicts Palolokong, the Water Serpent, rearing its head over the doomed city of Palatkwapi, just before its destruction. It is one of the most important legends in the Hopi culture, and had never been depicted on an item of adornment. It was completed only weeks before his untimely and tragic death, and was created at a time when his work similar to this was selling for 00 at the Hopi Show, at the Museum of Northern Arizona. It has had only one owner (me), and i acquired it directly from Marvin. It has not lived its life in a glass case or cedar chest, and has the scratches to prove it. i was immensely fortunate to own this amazing work of art for half of my life, but it is time for someone else to have the privilege of being its owner. This is certainly a piece to be proud of, and will bring its owner a lifetime of pleasure. You will never find another piece like this, so don't let this incredible opportunity pass you by. Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and congratulations in advance to the lucky buyer. Best Regards, Rich
