    Description

These beautiful sterling silver/overlay pierced (wire) earrings were hand-crafted by Joseph Coriz in 1994 and have been in our vault, never worn. They are approximately 1 1/2" x 3/8" and weigh approximately 8.8 grams. They are meticulous silver overlay with Joseph's trademark 14K gold sun and depict corn growing above a pueblo.
Joseph was born in 1956 on the Santo Domingo reservation and learned the art of jewelry making from his parents at a very early age. His work incorporates cultural tradition and symbolism with a contemporary flare. His creations are easily identifiable and are remarkable in their beauty, creativity, design and workmanship. He is a former school teacher and draftsman and is now a foremost and very recognized artist of our time. His work is highly collectible and scenic and is featured in prestigious galleries, museums and books.  Joseph has received awards from The Heard Museum, Santa Fe Indian Market, Colorado Springs Art Show and several others.
