    Description

    Welcome!
Offering... a stunningly beautiful bracelet made by David Tune, from my personal collection. The silver work includes hand made scalloped bezels for three rich deeply colored blue Morenci stones with pyrite and quartz, and two natural coral stones, with a pink cast. Against the rich patina the stones glow. There is a hand twisted wire around the frame and hand chiseled silver in the frame and appliquéd incised "wings" on the sides as well as little squished pieces of silver, a popular element for a bit.
    David Tune
is of Creek and Navajo and Hopi descent. He was born in 1955 in Winslow, Arizona, and raised both in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Oklahoma. David became serious about his art when in 1976, he was commissioned to design jewelry for the March of Dimes Poster Child and President Ford's senate. David had been creating his art to great acclaim, won countless awards and also taught High School for two years, when in 1987 he was forced to stop work and fight cancer. He was cured by his uncle, a healer, and returned in 1994 to creating beautiful pieces of jewelry. David's work is unique and unmistakable, like most excellent artists. He works with both sterling silver and gold, and uses many stones in combination in his inlay pieces. His colorful and innovative inlays are inspired by the aerial views of the earth that he sees when he's hot-air ballooning or skydiving. David says that every marking on his jewelry has spiritual meaning. A skydiver and hot air balloonist, David Tune comments "My view from up above inspires my inlay - all the pieces of the earth, fitting together just so."
He holds tight to his spirituality and is quoted as saying "Every marking on my jewelry has a spiritual meaning.
Every piece has its own story."

I consider this a best example of his work. It's been a favorite of mine for years.
The dimensions of this bracelet are: length internally of 6" silver alone, 1-3/8" gap = total internal length of 7-3/8", width at the center of 2-1/8", tapering at the sides to 3/4" and widening at the terminals to 1.5".  Weight is 94.3grams, significant. This piece is signed "David Tune" and not marked for silver content, but it is guaranteed at least coin silver at .900 or sterling at .925. Condition is excellent vintage, wearable and collectible. The turquoise has the appearance of some matrix related crazing, nothing endangering the integrity of the piece.
