    his auction is for an exquisite sterling silver Zuni bolo in a pot motif with intricate inlaid work.  The pot motif bolo is decorated with symbols of deer, birds, a bug, raindrops and more.  The gemstones in the inlay are turquoise, coral, jet and mother of pearl.  The bolo is signed "QP" on the back.  There are several Zuni artisans with these initials.  I found an identical bolo on the Internet attributed to Quincy Peynetsa but I cannot be certain of this attribution.
    I purchased the Zuni bolo many years ago and have never seen one like it.  I believe it is rare.  The fitting is an unmarked Bennett style clasp which came into use around 1983.  The bolo is not marked sterling but the bolo & tips test as sterling using a GXL Next Tester.
    The pottery bolo is a nice size at 2" side to side by 1 1/2"  high.  It weighs 32.1 grams in total.
    This inlaid work in sterling silver reflects that of the finest Zuni silversmiths.  There is a nice leather cord & sterling tips with the bolo so it is ready to wear!

    he sterling silver Zuni pot motif bolo is in excellent vintage condition with no damage to the inlay or silver work.  None of the original inlay work appears to be missing.  There could be small surface scratches consistent with use.  There is some tarnish from age that could be polished out.
    The locking mechanism works properly with tension to hold the tie.  The leather tie is in very good pre-owned condition as are the sterling tips.   This is an important Zuni bolo that will be cherished by the new owners for years to come.
