Introduced on January 26, 1993, in addition to Soviet-style banknotes, since July 26, 1993, it has remained the only legal tender of this denomination. They were in circulation until the 1998 reform. The design of the banknote is made in orange, blue and green colors (the predominant color is orange and light green).
The front side consists of three rectangular margins (narrow white on the left, wide white on the right, and a central margin with shading in the form of small repeating numbers "200"). In the left part of the central field there is a figured frame with the image of the Senate Tower of the Moscow Kremlin and the flag of the Russian Federation above the government building against the background of the sun's rays. At the top left and bottom two numbers "200" are horizontally located. On the right, there is a large denomination - the number "200", under which in smaller letters against the background of a horizontal ornament - "ДВЕСТИ РУБЛЕЙ", above the denomination there is a horizontal inscription "BANK OF RUSSIA". At the top of the right coupon field there is the emblem of the Bank of Russia of the old model (stylized letters "ЦБР"), at the bottom there is a rosette with the indication inside the year of the banknote sample - "1993".
On the reverse side there are also three rectangular margins (wide white on the left, narrow white on the right, and a large central margin, shaded with a colored pattern). At the top, the central field has a repeating microtext in the form of the numbers "200", below it is a horizontal pattern, and below it is orange and green shading with the numbers "200" repeated many times. Above the patterns and microtext there is a figured frame with wavy lines on the sides, inside it is an engraving depicting the Trinity and Kutafya towers of the Moscow Kremlin. Below, inside the stylized ribbon, there is a denomination - "
ДВЕСТИ РУБЛЕЙ
", below it there is a microtext in the form of repeating numbers "200" (between them the series and the banknote number). To the right of the engraving, above and below, there are two numbers "200". On the left coupon field at the top there is a three-line inscription - "ПОДДЕЛКА БИЛЕТОВ БАНКА РОССИИ ПРЕСЛЕДУЕТСЯ ПО ЗАКОНУ", below the number "200".
