In 1907, Lieut.-General Baden-Powell founded the now worldwide youth Scouting organization.
In 1910 Scouting found its way to America.
In 1920 he was knighted and became the "1st Baron of Gilwell".
He was knighted, not because of his historic stand as the "Triumphant Leader of the Siege of Mafeking" during the Second Boer War in 1900, but because of his creation of the Scouting organization.
By the time of his passing in 1941, Scouting had reached every corner of the globe and has grown and thrived, creating men of strong caricature and leaders of the world.
Today, Scouting is the world's largest youth organization.
This is an authentic letter from B-P to a lady that had requested his assistance in 1909. This letter is in almost perfect condition, no tears, smudges or watermarks.
The paper has been folded in half, then in thirds to fit into the original envelope (not included).
