Description
This is a set of cards showing a Boy Scout in Budapest dated 1938, Louis Marton. Hewas a Hungarian Scout artist who is known for his artwork on Scout post cards of the 1920s and 30s. His postcards came to worldwide attention during the Fourth World Jamboree, which was held in Hungary in 1933. It has been estimated that he produced over 200 different designs for Scout postcards
.
These cards are in good+ to good- condition because they have minor handling wear and staining in the margins but more important, one looks to have been possibly removed from a scrapbook, rather scuffed looking
on the back.
See the picture of the backs...if you scan closely the one on the bottom you can see where the lines are not consistent as if something has pulled off a bit of the surface of the card. But in spite of this, the subject of this card and the good condition of the images on the front, makes these a good inclusion in a collection...I've had them for many years and enjoyed them.
